I was very excited to see that after nearly four years of hard work the IAFF released their Online Firefighter Cancer Training. This training was initiated by a resolution at the 2012 IAFF Convention by the Denver Firefighters Local 858. Local 858 was gracious enough to include the Firefighter Cancer Support Network (FCSN) as a partner with the IAFF in the resolution. I can remember being in the room when Resolution 25 came up and was absolutely blown away by the support of the IAFF delegates. I remember thinking at that point, finally they get it! Three of us were flown to Washington DC the next summer to meet with the IAFF at their Headquarters. It was the only time I had the opportunity to assist in person, but I am thankful that several of my videos and recommendations made the final cut. I had the opportunity to complete the training last month and was very happy with the finished product. The IAFF and FCSN did a great job of providing a comprehensive training that will be beneficial for all firefighters. Please check out the link below to start the training.
